History of the Sybian

The prototype

The Sybian was invented by David L. Lampert, who had the first prototype built in 1985. I must give him credit for building it at a time when attitudes towards sexual stimulation were less open then what they are today. He had been thinking about the device since the early 70’s and after much thought and research built his prototype.

The second prototype was very similar to today’s model but it was much heavier weighing in at 51 pounds as opposed to the current weight of 22 pounds and it was a full 11.5 inches longer than the current retail version.  All in all it took David 3 years to bring the Sybian from a prototype to the final version available for sale today.

Naming the masturbation machine

The name started out as “Master Better” or MB but was renamed to the current name based on a ancient city in Italy named Sybaris, then adding an “ian” such as “America” beign the place and “American” being the person living there.
